Soresto supports the fight against cancer

For the second year in a row, Soresto Group took part in a cocktail benefit event organized by La Capitale Financial Group to raise money for the Deschênes-Fabia breast cancer research and treatment centre in Quebec City.
The event was held on November 1, 2016, and featured a silent auction at the La Capitale building, which was illuminated in pink for the occasion. Thanks to the more than sixty people who participated, the initial fundraising goal was surpassed by over $2,000, raising a total of $27,565.
Serge Forcier, the head of Soresto Trois-Rivières, walked away with a superb painting specially made for the event. David Forcier, of Soresto Sherbrooke, also participated in the event.
For Soresto, supporting causes like this one is simply the natural thing to do. Pénélope Durand, General Manager, says, "Breast cancer affects women most. In 2016, more than 25,000 Canadian women received this terrible diagnosis. And even though science has made major progress in recent years, there's still a lot more work to do. Because 13 women die every day of breast cancer, and this needs to stop."
Like any type of cancer, breast cancer can take an unexpected toll not only on the patient, but also on their loved ones. From spouses to children to parents, everyone suffers. That's why benefit events like those hosted by La Capitale are so critical for raising funds to continue research progress. The Soresto team is proud to have participated in such an enjoyable and beneficial fundraiser.
See you next year—that's a promise!
