IICRC certification: a guarantee of quality

Many certifications are of paramount importance in the field of disaster recovery. One of them, the IICRC certification, is a true guarantee of quality for both insurers and victims. At Soresto, not only is the firm accredited, but so are all of the technicians. So what exactly does this mean?
Since it was founded in 1972, the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification has become the industry benchmark. It is a non-profit organization that sets rigorous standards of best practice in the field of disaster recovery, and that issues compliance certifications. Operating in more than 25 countries, the organization raises the bar for international standards of health, welfare, and respect for the environment. It works closely with professional associations to establish unanimous standards that govern the various industries with which it is associated.
In addition to establishing standards and norms for our industry, the IICRC provides training in three key areas: cleaning, inspection, and renovation. The IICRC also creates common standards with the aim of developing a common industry terminology for all major disaster recovery players. As a result, industry terminology has the same meaning for everyone, and the possibility of misunderstandings is greatly diminished. Although IICRC certification is not yet mandatory in Canada, it is increasingly required when bidding for large insurance companies, and it has become an asset for clients seeking a serious company that operates according to best practices.
The advantages of IICRC certification are numerous:
• The information you receive will be honest and accurate.
• Work is done by a certified technician who will have undergone rigorous training.
• The firm selected for the recovery work will offer continuing education to its employees, and is therefore aware of the latest changes in the industry.
• The company is obligated to take out liability insurance, to protect all parties in case of an incident.
• A written complaint policy is in effect to settle disputes.
Today, there are over 6,000 certified companies and 53,000 certified technicians in the world, and Soresto is proud to be part of this great family that aims to always offer the best service. IICRC certification is the assurance that the responsible renovation of your home will be done in compliance with the most stringent industry standards. And that is the best guarantee a claimant can have.
