Rooting for the home team, the Rebelles

Who are the Rebelles? For starters, they're a fastpitch girls' softball team...not to mention the best team in the province! These 12- and 13-year-olds are a real bunch of sluggers, and they have all the discipline and ambition of true athletes.
That's also why Soresto Valleyfield has decided to sponsor the Rebelles U14 team, whose roster includes outfielder Laurence Cousol, the daughter of Stéphanie Plourde, executive assistante at Soresto Valleyfield.
Why? "Because it means our province's best athletes can play their sport, constantly improve and compete against top teams," says Stéphane Desrochers, the owner of Soresto Valleyfield.
In March, the twelve teammates spent their spring break in an intensive training camp in Florida. There they had an opportunity to see how they stack up against their American competitors while participating in demanding training.
Their top goal—besides winning as many games as possible—is to work harder at training and develop each player's skills. The girls push past their limits every day to become better players. "We take a lot of pride in supporting Quebec's best fastpitch players and knowing that some of them will go on to the major leagues. We've seen Laurence in action and we were impressed by her rare talent," says Stéphane Desrochers.
Check out the team's summer game schedule and go cheer on these tough girls!
